Leather
Leather, or coriaceous notes in a perfume are the result of masterful blending of complex and often powerful ingredients. These fragrances are frequently smokey, sometimes animalic, and occasionally green. Historically favoured by men, leather notes are nevertheless also used in certain feminine scents to add rich undertones and complexity. Whilst synthetic materials are usually the source of leather notes, castoreum from wild beavers is also used to contribute an inimitable quality and naturalness.
